The power of team building to strengthen communication, encourage collaboration, and forge lasting connections is highly valued at Sopago. Our German staff recently embarked on a thrilling trek through the Alps, which proved to be both enlightening and exhilarating. Organizing a team-building event that accommodates diverse schedules, holiday conflicts, and personal commitments is no small feat.
Axel Tessman, Sopago’s CEO, took the reins on this one. "It’s always tricky to find a date that works for everyone with holidays, family plans, and kids," he said. After finalizing the date, Axel carefully planned activities that would keep the team close together and included a surprise element to keep the excitement high. The anticipation was palpable, especially for Sumedha, our full-stack developer, who eagerly packed essentials like a rainproof jacket and umbrella, brimming with excitement and prepared for whatever the Alps had in store.
The Hike: A test of endurance and spirit
The hiking adventures were filled with excitement and a bit of trepidation. Our team embarked on a journey through Partnach Gorge on a rainy day. Despite the weather, their spirits were high, and their energy was contagious The group faced a dilemma halfway through the hike: to continue or head back. Of course, they voted to move forward, driven by the promise of a beautiful mountain view at the end. Faced with numerous challenges during their hike, the team’s support for each other never wavered.
"During a challenging part of our hike in the Alps, our team demonstrated incredible support for each other," recalled Kavita. The team found that the steep and rugged paths were less exhausting thanks to great conversations that kept the mood light and enjoyable all through the hike.
This bonding trip catalyzed personal growth, such as increased confidence and resilience, and fostered better team dynamics through enhanced communication and collaboration between the team members.
